BULLDOGS ANNOUNCE TYLER COLEMAN AS NEW HEAD COACH

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Mount Brydges, ON – The Mount Brydges Bulldogs are proud to announce the appointment of Tyler Coleman as the organization’s new Head Coach.

A native of Strathroy, Coleman brings an impressive hockey background to the Bulldogs, including three seasons in the GOJHL and a SOJHL Championship as a player with the Exeter Hawks. More importantly, Tyler is already a valued member of the Bulldogs family and has been an integral part of the culture, work ethic, and commitment to excellence that have defined the organization in recent years.

This announcement comes following one of the most successful seasons in franchise history. The Bulldogs captured the 2025-26 Yeck Division Championship, the organization’s first division title in more than two decades, and established themselves as one of the premier programs in the PJHL. The success of the team was further recognized when the Bulldogs coaching staff was named PJHL Yeck Division Coaching Staff of the Year, a testament to the dedication and leadership demonstrated behind the bench throughout the season.

At the center of that success was Head Coach Paul Hopkins, whose impact on the Bulldogs organization cannot be overstated. Widely regarded as the winningest coach in franchise history, Hopkins helped transform the Bulldogs into perennial contenders and built a culture of accountability, development, and success. His leadership culminated in the historic 2025-26 Yeck Division Championship and countless milestones that have elevated the profile of Bulldogs hockey.

While Hopkins will be stepping back into a reduced role within the organization, the Bulldogs are committed to ensuring a smooth and thoughtful transition. The organization has always believed in succession planning and developing leaders from within. Tyler Coleman represents that philosophy perfectly. Having already earned the respect of players, coaches, and management alike, he has been part of the foundation that helped create the Bulldogs’ recent success.

“Strong organizations don’t just build winning teams; they build continuity,” said Bulldogs President Andy Friyia. “One of our priorities has always been to identify and develop future leaders within our program. Tyler has demonstrated the character, hockey knowledge, and leadership qualities that make him the ideal person to continue what has been built here.”

Friyia added, “Paul Hopkins leaves behind a remarkable legacy. His record, the championship season, and the recognition of his staff as Coaching Staff of the Year speak for themselves. He has been instrumental in shaping our culture and our success. While those are undoubtedly big shoes to fill, we are fortunate to have someone of Tyler’s calibre ready to step into this role.”

The Bulldogs organization extends its sincere appreciation to Paul Hopkins for his years of dedication and leadership and looks forward to his continued involvement with the team. At the same time, the organization is excited to turn the page to a new chapter under Tyler Coleman’s leadership while maintaining the standards and culture that have made the Bulldogs one of the PJHL’s most respected programs.

Please join us in congratulating Tyler Coleman, the new Head Coach of the Mount Brydges Bulldogs.
