Bulldogs Take Two Points on the Road

Petrolia, ON – The Bulldogs picked up an important two points on the road last night from the Greenwood Recreation Centre by way of a 4-3 win over the Petrolia Flyers.

Just thirty-five seconds into the game, Nolan Griffiths (Tim Jozsa) got the away side onto the scoresheet. Nick Mazza (Tage Gallant, Alex Laszlo) added his second goal of the season at 9:34. The Bulldogs out-shot the Flyers by a count of 18-6 in the initial period.

The middle frame was taken by the home side who were looking to get even with their visitors. Goals from Tobias Iantorno (6:26, PP) and Cameron Davidson (7:26) pulled the home side to level ground. However, at 11:00, Deacon Kroesbergen (Callum Statchuk, Alex Laszlo) punched back for the Bulldogs who would lead 3-2 after forty minutes of play.

The teams would go on trade goals in the third period. At 4:11, Tim Jozsa (Alex Laszlo, Nolan Griffiths) pushed the score to 4-2 via the power-play. Owen Peters (15:34) struck back for the hosts late in the third period to ensure a nervous ending to this contest.

Aiden Berry was sensational in turning aside 37 of 40 shots peppered his way. For Berry, the win is his twelfth of the season.

The team now shifts its attention to Saturday (away) and Sunday (home) against the Port Stanley Sailors.
