Dogs Punch Ticket to Yeck Division Final

Mount Brydges, ON – It was always going to be a tough series between the Bulldogs and Exeter Hawks. It was always going to take something special for either team to escape with four victories. Last night, for the second game in a row, the scoreboard read 5-5 at the end of regulation. For the second game in a row, the Dogs and Hawks battled beyond sixty minutes. For the second game in a row, the Dogs emerged victorious.

For those who did not catch last night’s spectacle, at one point in the middle of the third period, the Dogs found themselves in a tough spot as the Hawks had flown out to a 5-2 lead. From 11:31 to 12:46 of that same period, the home side sent the 386 fans at the Tri-Township Arena into a frenzy as the team rattled off three unanswered goals to send the game into overtime.

At 4:56 of the extra frame, Dominic DiFrancesco would pounce on a bouncing puck in front of the Hawks goal and slam home the series-winning goal. The old barn erupted and the series officially came to an end.

The entire organization would like to thank all supporters who came out last night and enjoyed the game. In addition, the team would like to thank Matt Saddler for his incredible singing of the Canadian National Anthem.

With the win, the Dogs earned their place in the PJHL Yeck Division Final. Their opponents are none other than their Highway 81 rivals in the North Middlesex Stars. The Stars dismissed the Thamesford Trojans 4-games-to-1 to earn their place alongside the Dogs.

The organization would like to thank the Exeter Hawks for an incredible series.
