Weekend Preview: Visits from the Sailors and Stars

Mount Brydges, ON – To say that this weekend is big one would be an understatement as the Bulldogs will welcome two important opponents to the Tri-Township Arena. Looking to keep pace with the upper echelon of the Yeck Division, the Dogs will host the first-place Port Stanley Sailors on Saturday evening and follow up on Sunday night against Highway 81 rivals – the North Middlesex Stars.

Saturday, January 4 vs Port Stanley (19-7-1-0-0-1, 1st)

Arena and Time: Tri-Township Arena, 7:30PM
Last Meeting: Saturday, December 14 (2-0 L – Game Report)

The Opponent: At the moment, the Sailors are clinging to top spot in the Yeck Division by one point over the Exeter Hawks. The team from the Port collected six wins out of eight contests in the month of December and out-scored the opponent by a 39-20 tally. Saturday’s tilt will be the lone game for the Sailors this weekend.

Sunday, January 5 vs North Middlesex (15-8-2-0-1-1, 5th)

Last Meeting: Saturday, December 7 (6-4 W – Game Report)

The Opponent: December was a mixed bag of results for the Stars who are looking to go on a winning run of their own in order to catch the Bulldogs who sit two points above them in the standings. To date, the season series between these two clubs is level at 2-2. The Stars owned the initial two meetings (4-3 SOW, 5-4 W). The Bulldogs charged back with 2-1 and 6-4 decisions.
