Saturday, December 28 vs Aylmer (5-4 W)
As stated in our Weekend Preview, the Aylmer Spitfires were looking to right their course prior to entering the 2025 portion of the schedule. On the other side of the ice, the Bulldogs were looking to keep pace with the likes of Petrolia, Exeter, and Port Stanley.
Ben Landers (Alex Laszlo, Nolan Griffiths) got the home side off to a good start via the power-play at 3:09. Approximately six minutes later, the Spitfires mounted their attack and were rewarded through Hunter White (9:03, PP), Landon Foote (12:39), and Jackson Dobbin (16:34). After 20 minutes of play at the Tri-Township Arena, it was the visitors on top by way of a 3-1 tally.
The Bulldogs needed an early second period spark to kick-start the comeback. The team got their wish from Kevin Waters (Tyler Taplay, Alex Laszlo) at 3:18 of the period. Nick Serratore (6:33, PP) ensured the Spits kept two paces above the Bulldogs for the time being. However, at 12:08 of the period, Noah Cameron (Alex Laszlo, Nolan Griffiths) would bring the Bulldogs to within striking distance through yet another power-play marker.
