Mt. Brydges, ON – The Bulldogs split a pair of games this past weekend. The team dropped a 2-0 decision on Saturday in Port Stanley and rallied on Sunday to best the Aylmer Spitfires by way of a 4-1 final. Currently, the teams sits in fourth place of the PJHL Yeck Division.

Saturday, December 14 at Port Stanley (2-0 L)
The Dogs entered the weekend festivities one point behind the Sailors who were looking for a win during their Annual Teddy Bear Toss event. Despite both teams ending proceedings tied at 38 shots apiece, it was the Sailors who emerged victorious at the end of sixty minutes.
Sam Taylor (Teddy Bear Toss goal) and Owen Murree (empty-net) scored for the Sailors. Will Richardson stopped all 38 shots fired his way.
Aiden Berry turned aside 36 of 37 shots in the Mt. Brydges goal.
Sunday, December 15 at Aylmer (4-1 W)
A quick turnaround saw the Bulldogs enter the East Elgin Community Centre for a Sunday matinee against the Spitfires.
Noah Cameron (Nolan Burnside, Nathan Solomon) got the scoring started in the first period at 11:35. Moments later, at 13:18, the Bulldogs doubled their lead via Logan Gianelli. Nick Mazza picked up his first assist back in a Bulldogs uniform on the Gianelli marker.
Mazza wasn’t done with his assist in the first period as he added his first goal of the season at 5:07 of the middle frame. Alex Laszlo recorded the lone assist. Ethan Berry punched back for the Spits with just shy of a minute to go at 19:04.
The lone third period tally came via the power-play and it was Nolan Griffiths (Callum Statchuk, Ben Landers) who notched his seventh goal of the season at 5:01.
Colin Ideson stopped 33 of 34 shots peppered his way to record his fifth win of the season.
