2025 PJHL Playoffs Bracket and Tracker
Game 1: Friday, February 21 | 7-3 Win | 1-0 MBB | Game Report
The Bulldogs secured an impressive game one victory with goals from seven different goal-scorers on the night. Aiden Berry made 32 saves on the evening to secure the win.
Period 1: The scoring got underway at 12:05 of the initial frame by way of Caleb Musselman to give the Stars the lead. However, just over a minute later, Noah Cameron (Logan Forster, Jack Uniac, 17:38) opened his post-season scoring account via a short-handed marker to even the score. Forster supplied the grit and determination on the play from the defensive zone and Cameron showed plenty of patience to move from forehand to backhand a slip the puck under an outstretched Trevor Aarts in the North Middlesex goal.
Period 2: The 268 fans who packed the Tri-Township Arena witnessed an offensive explosion from the home side in the middle stanza. Nolan Griffiths (Noah Cameron) captured his first of the post-season just 35-seconds into proceedings via the power-play. A quick wrist-shot from an odd angle along the near-side half-wall, Griffiths lifted the puck over the shoulder of the goaltender to push the Bulldogs into the lead. Callum Statchuk (Noah Cameron, Jaxon Moorhouse) added to the lead at 2:18. A seemingly harmless two-on-two heading into the Stars’ zone turned ugly for the away side as a crisp Cameron pass eluded the defenders and Statchuck made no mistake on the high glove-side release. The Noah Cameron Show continued via an assist at 12:13 as Jaxon Moorhouse found the back of the net. Moorhouse, who at the time was in front of the Bulldogs’ bench, released a wrist-shot through a maze of players, high glove-side, to keep things rolling for the Dogs. Trying to pull his team back into the game, Caleb Musselman (14:12) replied for the Stars. However, just 1-minute and five seconds later, Deacon Kroesbergen was gifted a goal via a superb backdoor pass from Cal Crinklaw who found his line-mate driving the net from the far-side hash-mark.
Period 3: Another power-play goal came at 4:43 of the final frame by Ben Landers (Alex Laszlo, Noah Cameron). Laszlo would collect the pass from Cameron and sneak down the near-side wall in order to open up the Stars’ defense and find Landers camped out in front of the net. The Landers one-timer went against the grain to the top corner from where Aarts had started his side-to-side movement across the crease. Tage Gallant (Nathan VanHooydonk, 13:56) added insult to injury. Gallant followed up on a goalmouth scramble and found the puck sitting the blue paint to push over the line. Ex-Bulldog, Noah Candy, pulled one back for the Stars at 19:08.
Game 2: Sunday, February 23 | 4-2 Win | 2-0 MBB | Game Report
The stage was set for a highly competitive game on Sunday evening in Mount Brydges as the Stars were looking to quickly erase all memory of their 7-3 loss a few days prior at the paws of their hosts. Noah Cameron continued his solid point production in this contest while Aiden Berry was stellar when called upon and turned aside 36 of 38 shots peppered his way. Berry also recorded an assist on the last goal of the game.
Period 1: For the second time in as many games, the Stars jumped out to the lead. This time, it was Josh Cornfield who put the visitors up by a tally. Just under twelve minutes later, off of a broken neutral zone faceoff, Alex Laszlo took the puck for himself and streaked through mid-ice and unleashed a quick wrist-shot, from just inside the blueline, which found the mesh behind the out-stretched glove of Benjamin Gustafson.
Period 2: The lone goal of the middle frame belonged to Hayden Hessel of the Stars who put his side ahead at 13:20. Nick Mazza (Mount Brydges) and Griffen Cann (North Middlesex) exchanged blows in a spirited tilt in front of the scorekeepers box at 16:16 as tempers started to reach a boiling point in the contest.
Period 3: Logan Gianelli embraced the method of driving the net with your stick on the ice as he tapped in a gift from Noah Cameron and Nathan Lavender, at 7:28, to level the game at 2-2. At 12:48, a Nolan Griffiths point shot “had eyes” as the puck sizzled through a maze of bodies and ended up behind Gustafson which gave the Bulldogs their first lead of the game. With just five seconds remaining on the clock, Noah Cameron (Alex Laszlo, Aiden Berry), rushed up the near-side wall and simply slipped the biscuit into the empty-net to secure the 4-2 win.
