Friday, January 17 at Thamesford (5-3 W)

Looking to make amends for their overtime (home) loss in late December, the Bulldogs were looking to correct their course away from home in Thamesford. In a tightly contested game, it was the Dogs who would emerge by way of a 5-3 final in front of 163 fans on Friday evening.

The Bulldogs started well and at 1:39 of the first period, Nathan Solomon (Tim Jozsa, Nolan Burnside) earned his second goal of the campaign to push the Dogs ahead. Deacon Kroesbergen (Logan Gianelli, Alex Laszlo) added a second goal for the away side just ten seconds later. Riley Wood (6:56) and top point producer, Carter Musselman (19:48), ensured that the first period ended on level terms.

The lone goal of the middle stanza belonged to Michael Daiello at 19:46.

During the course of the final period, the Dogs would pull away from their hosts. At 9:20, Nolan Burnside (Kevin Waters, Jack Uniac) levelled the score at three apiece. During the late stages of the period, Deacon Kroesbergen (Kevin Waters) added his second goal of the game and seventh of the season to push the Dogs ahead by one goal with moments to spare on the clock. At 19:12, Nathan Lavender (Justin Zuril) added an empty-net goal to complete the scoring on the night.

Aiden Berry earned the win by making 39 stops on 42 shots.

In many games across the league it is rare to see a game without a special teams goal-scored. During the sixty minutes of this particular game, neither team was able to find the back of the net while playing with the man-advantage.

Saturday, January 18 vs Lucan (6-4 W)

Always a spirited contest, the Lucan Irish entered the Tri-Township Arena on Saturday evening and were looking to continue their good fortunes against the Bulldogs. Fortunately for the home fans, the Dogs were not in the giving mood on Saturday night. Like a game of hot potato, this contest was a true back-and-forth game for sixty minutes.

Callum Statchuk (Tage Gallant, Tyler Taplay) opened the scoring for the home side at 3:25. Several minutes later, Max Schryer (10:19) leveled proceedings. Not the be outdone, Nolan Griffiths (Nathan Lavender, Ben Landers) notched his tenth goal of the season via the power-play to push the Dogs ahead to a 2-1 lead at the first intermission.

During the course of the middle frame, the back-and-forth momentum swings continued. Deacon Kroesbergen (Jack Uniac, Logan Forster, 2:36) continued his offensively gifted weekend via his power-play goal to send the Dogs up by two. Spencer Sutter (7:39) pulled one back for the Irish. Thirty-one seconds later, Cal Crinklaw (Callum Statchuk, 8:20) restored the two goal cushion for the home side. Cole Dunn (10:02) added an Irish power-play marker to keep the away side in the thick of the battle. Less than two minutes later, at 12:49, Nathan Solomon scored his second goal in as many games to end the scoring frenzy of the middle period.

The Deacon Kroesbergen Show continued in the third period as Kroesbergen ensured his team went back up by three. Kevin Waters, who was an assist machine this past weekend, added to his helper tally along with Nolan Burnside. Brayden Richard (10:57) gave the Irish another shout, but that is as close the visitors would come.

Logan Griffiths picked another victory by making 32 stops on 36 shots fired his way.
