Mount Brydges, ON - The Bulldogs went one for three this past weekend. The team dropped an intense decision by way of an 8-5 loss in Petrolia last Thursday. The Dogs then rallied on Friday evening in front of 198 fans at the Tri-Township Arena - a 7-2 win over the Aylmer Spitfires. In Game 3 of the Highway 81 season series, the North Middlesex Stars skated to a 3-1 victory on Sunday afternoon.
The Dogs are just two games shy of their official halfway point of the season. The team host an 9-9-1 record after 19 games-played.
Thursday, November 20 at Petrolia (ATT: 276) - Game Report (Click Here)
The Bulldogs enjoyed a strong initial twenty minutes and an evenly played middle frame. However, the home side Flyers were able to find another gear of offense and turned on the jets with five goals in the final period. The Flyers pushed their way to an 8-5 win at home.
JJ Fogarty got the scoring started at 12:03 of the first period. Connor Castellarin earned his second goal of the season to push the Dogs to a 2-0 lead. Jake McGrail ensured the Flyers had a say in proceedings at 16:29.
Tim Jozsa opened the scoring in the middle frame via the powerplay. Ben Funston potted his sixth of the season at 11:08 to make it 4-1 for the away side. Tobias Iantorno (18:23) and Parker Davidson (18:38) grabbed two quick goals back for the home side. 4-3 at the break.
Just 27 seconds into the third period, Tobias Iantorno tied the game. Ethan Flintoff pushed the home side ahead (7:00). JJ Fogarty punched back for the Bulldogs at 9:50. The last three goals of the contest belonged to the Flyers by way of Jace McGrail (11:48, PP), Parker Davidson (15:26), and Andrew Jaques (19:11).
Logan Griffiths repelled multiple Grade-A scoring chances, turning aside 33 of 41 shots peppered his way.
Friday, November 21 vs Aylmer (ATT: 198) - Game Report (Click Here)
The team were looking to make amends for their effort the previous evening in Petrolia and did so in a big way on Friday evening at home.
Callum Statchuk earned his third goal of the season at 9:35 to get things rolling for the home side. It was Statchuk again, at 12:48, who pushed the Dogs ahead by a 2-0 tally. The score remained that way into the first intermission.
JJ Fogarty, on the powerplay, wasted little time in adding a third Bulldogs goal just 14 seconds into the middle stanza. Stephen Burnett deposited his first goal of the season at 16:55. The Spitfires added two late goals via Caden Craggs (19:05, SH) and Donovan Appleford (19:19, PP).
Tim Jozsa pushed the needle further along for the Dogs at 6:03 of the final period. Moments later, at 8:21, Jozsa would add his second of the game and tenth of the season. Logan Gianelli rounded out the scoring at 12:59.
Josh Purtill earned his fourth win of the season and turned aside 38 of 40 shots on the evening.

Sunday, November 23 at North Middlesex (ATT: 132) - Game Report (Click Here)
A late afternoon showdown between two rivals was a great way to round out the PJHL action on Sunday. Despite the bright start by the Dogs, the Stars would end up the victors at the end of 60 minutes from Parkhill.
Building on their momentum from Friday night, the Bulldogs started brightly on Sunday afternoon. JJ Fogarty scored just 1:03 into the contest. 1-0 after twenty minutes.
The teams traded scoring chances and shots throughout the second frame until Anthony Tudino, at 19:40, leveled proceedings heading into the second intermission.
Exactly two minutes into the final frame, Lucas Desroches pushed the Stars ahead by one. At 11:14 it was Nick Bannister who sealed maximum points of the home side.
Called upon on numerous occasions to make timely saves was Logan Griffiths in the Dogs' goal. The netminder turned aside 36 shots of 39.
Next Weekend
The Dogs now enter the final weekend of November. The team will host the Lucan Irish on Friday, November 28 at 8:30PM from the Tri-Township Arena. On Saturday evening, the team will travel to Port Stanley to clash with the Sailors at 7:30PM.
