Weekend Review: Overtime Heroes

Mount Brydges, ON – Fans were treated to two incredible games this past weekend. On Friday evening, the Dogs stormed back from a two goal deficit to overtake the Petrolia Flyers by way of a 3-2 overtime win. The following night, the Bulldogs and Exeter Hawks required the extra frame. The Dogs came away with a 2-1 overtime victory.

Friday, February 6 vs Petrolia Flyers – Game Summary

The Bulldogs began their comeback at 12:55 of the second period against the Flyers. Deacon Kroesbergen added his third of the season. Exactly four minutes later, Luke Boere found the back of the net which ensured at least one point for the home side. The overtime hero was Logan Gianelli with fifty seconds remaining. Logan Griffiths was sensational in goal and turned aside forty-night of fifty-one shots.

Saturday, February 7 vs Exeter Hawks – Game Summary

A Dominic DiFrancesco third period goal drove this game to overtime. In the extra frame, a neat and tidy individual effort by JJ Fogarty was finished to end proceedings. Playing in his second game in as many nights, Logan Griffiths stymied the Hawks by making fifty-one stops on fifty-two shots.
